The idea of a mountain home for skiing in winter, climbing and cycling in the summer, fabulous views and clean air all year round is indeed very alluring.

It is no wonder that business men, affluent individuals, royals and world intellectuals make this mountain resort their second home during the summer and winter seasons in search of relax or inspiration.

The town and majestic surroundings have also been the location of more than 100 movies and documentaries mostly notably: The Pink Panther (1963), James Bond For Your Eyes Only (1981), Krull (1983), The Bear (1988) and Cliffhanger (1993). 

In 2021 Cortina d’Ampezzo will be the host of the FIS Sky World Cup.  Prices were at their peak in 2007 at around 20,000 EUR/m2 and have been falling to 16,000 EUR/m2. In view of this last event prices are expected to rise.
